Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data the portal collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to video-encoding-hub.org, operated by Northline Media Engineering LLC.
What we collect
The portal is built to collect as little as possible. Reading any page requires no account, no sign-in and no personal information. We do not run analytics scripts, we do not embed advertising networks, and we do not load resources from third-party servers. As a result, using the site does not generate a profile of your reading behaviour on our side.
Two limited categories of data may exist. First, our hosting provider records standard technical logs, such as the requesting address and the time of a request, for security and reliability purposes. These logs are generated by the server, not by scripts in your browser. Second, if you contact us by email, we hold the message and the address you wrote from in order to reply.
Local storage in your browser
The site stores a single value in your browser's local storage when you accept the cookie notice, so that the notice is not shown again on the same device. That value contains no identifier and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser storage removes it. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
Forms
Forms on this site do not transmit data. On submit they redirect to a confirmation page within the same site, and no information leaves your browser. If you want us to receive a message, you must send it by email to one of the addresses listed below.
How we use data
Technical logs are used to keep the service available and to investigate abuse. Email correspondence is used to answer the enquiry, to correct published content where relevant, and to keep a record of corrections. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build behavioural profiles.
Legal bases and retention
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on legitimate interests for service security and on your request for correspondence we exchange with you. Technical logs are kept for a short operational window and then discarded. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the matter and to document any correction, after which it is deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to receive your data in a portable form. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. You can also use the mechanism described on the Do Not Sell or Share page, which applies even though we do not sell data.
Children
This publication is intended for a professional audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact the privacy desk and we will delete it.
International transfers and security
The publication is operated from the United States. If you contact us from another country, your message will be processed in the United States. We protect correspondence with standard technical measures, including encrypted transport where it is available, and we limit access to the people who need it in order to respond.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially, the effective date at the top of the page will be updated and the change summarised in the editorial log. Questions about this policy go to [email protected], or by post to Northline Media Engineering LLC, 1420 Harbor Point Drive, Suite 210, Portland, OR 97209.
