Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Effective 2026-01-01 · last reviewed 2026-10-05 · video-encoding-hub.org

Certain United States privacy laws give consumers the right to direct a business not to sell or share their personal information. This page explains our position and how to exercise that right with us.

Our position

Northline Media Engineering LLC does not sell personal information, and it does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. That is true of every reader of this publication, and it is true by design rather than by policy alone. The site loads no advertising scripts, no analytics scripts and no third-party resources, so there is no mechanism through which personal information could be sold or shared even if someone wanted to.

Why the site cannot do it

Commercially, the sale or sharing of personal information usually happens through embedded tags: an advertising pixel that reports a visit, or an analytics script that reports reading behaviour to a third party. This site contains none of those. It is a set of static pages served from a single host, with one stylesheet, one small local script, local images and a single local preference stored in your browser. Nothing on a page contacts another company. With no such mechanism present, the ordinary mechanics of selling or sharing data are simply absent.

What data exists, and for how long

Two limited categories of data may exist, both described in the Privacy Policy: standard server request logs kept for a short operational window and used for security and reliability, and email correspondence you choose to send us, kept for as long as needed to handle the matter. Neither category is sold, and neither is used for advertising.

How to exercise your right anyway

If you would like to make a formal request, send one to [email protected]. Include the request in the subject line, state that you are making a do-not-sell-or-share request, and provide enough information for us to identify any records that might relate to you, such as the email address you have used in correspondence. Because we hold so little, we often have nothing to act on; in that case we will tell you plainly rather than leaving the request unresolved.

You may also use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf. We may ask for confirmation that the agent is authorised before acting, which is standard practice and is intended to protect readers rather than to obstruct them.

Related rights

The same address handles requests to access, correct or delete personal information, and requests to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information through the normal operation of this site, but we will respond to any request we receive and explain what we hold.

Response times and verification

We aim to acknowledge a privacy request within ten business days and to complete it within forty-five days, consistent with the timelines used by major United States privacy statutes. If a request requires more time, we will explain why in writing before the initial period expires.

Changes

If we ever introduce a feature that could involve the sale or sharing of personal information, this page and the Privacy Policy would be updated before that feature took effect, and the effective date at the top of this page would change.
